ASA management feels that the youth is one of the most important segment of our community. They are the leaders and they are the future, not only for the Sikhs, but also the global community. We need to nurture our youth in order to further to cause of Sikhism. Especially in this modern world, we need to equip our youth with proper Gurmat knowledge so that they can remain spiritually healthy and face the world with confidence.
Currently, a weekly kids session is held during the school term. This is held from 6.30pm - 8.00pm in the Small Darbar Sahib (mezzanine level) above the main hall, each Saturday night. Youth Leaders assist in facilitating this session. This session is open to all interested youths and kids above 5 years of age.
A monthly youth meeting is also held on a Sunday evening at Gurdwara Sahib Glenwood. The objective is to provide a forum for Sikh youth over the age of 16 to discuss issues relating to the Sikh faith.
Other upcoming activities include fundraising activities, sporting events and outings. The objective is to provide Sikh youth the opportunity to get involved both at the local and community level. This will also assist in developing teamwork, leadership skills and friendship within our youths.
